Snowflake Morays?

zoolady Dec 11, 2005 10:21 PM

Sorry to post this here but i am not getting resonse anywhere else. Are these forums dead?

My question is regarding snowflake moray eels.
I have see two different pet stores sell them. One sold what they called a "FRESHWATER" Snowflake moray eel. And said to keep it in Brackish water. The other did not mention the word Freshwater and kept thiers in all marine water. So m yquestion is, are these the same type of snowflake moray? Or are there two different kinds of snowflake morays?
Thanks for any help...if i get any

Unfortunately the saltwater forums don't get much traffic

From what I've read morays are brackish - saltwater.

Technically you could put a moray in a brackish tank. If properly acclimated you could get away with it. However, they would probably be better in a pure saltwater tank. This is where they are naturally found anyways. As for the dead forums sometimes I think that myself. It would be neat if this was as active as the Kinsnake.com sight.

Ryan,
Thank you for your advice. Unfortunatly my salt water knowledge is extremely limited. It would be great if we saw as much traffic here as at Kingsnake and welcome any suggestions to help things pick up. A host who knows saltwater would be a BIG help
