Protein Skimmer advice

crocogator106 Dec 23, 2005 05:05 AM

I am about to purchase a protein skimmer for my 55 gal tank. It will be a FOWLR tank. I have read good things about the Coralife Super Skimmer. Would like to know if anyone has any experience with these skimmers. I also only have 3" clearance between my tank and wall and is it alright to put the skimmer on the side of my tank instead of on the back. I know that the Super Skimmer will also go in the sump if it can not be hung on the side of aquarium. THANKS

How about a Prizm. I use one and it's affordable and it works pretty good.

My friend has a prizm and I have a hang on back of tank CPR . THe CPR backpack blows it away . The prizm works as you know but the Backback works better.
The best hang on I have ever seen is the Remora thats like an incredible undertank skimmer rolled into a small hang on back skimmer.
My tank is a 75 I am happy with the CPR Backpack but when I go with 125 will get the remora .
