breeding clownfish

Partsman41953 Mar 15, 2006 07:59 AM

Hi,

I am attempting to raise some clownfish, from larve, that I am getting from a friend's reef tank. Her clowns lay eggs every other week and I would like to know what I would need to do in order to raise these fish successfully. My first attempt last week was a disaster. I have been reading alot of information on the internet but everyone does it differently. I need some information from someone who has done this successfully.

Thanks,

Glenn

Clownfish start life in what is generally a planktonic stage. they are very tiny and as such need very tiny food also cover the tank all the way around with black paper with a light at the top the fry will collect near the top. It can be very difficult so it may take a few attempts to raise them to adulthood. Good Luck!
