I'm looking to start a salt water tank. The closest thing I have done to this is maybe the goldfish that I had about 10 yrs ago...

I'm interested in a reef system and I really don't know what I am doing. What am I going to need. I know I need a tank I have my eye on a 15 gallon one. I know that I need a top, a filter system, sand food. But really other than that I am completely new to this. What kind of...well everything should I get? How do I maintain this thing? Please help. Thanks Much!

I guess you should decide what kind of inhabitants you want to keep. a fish only aquarium is so much more less expensive than one that houses coral and anemone's. I just started on my marine aquarium a couple of years ago just intending to keep some "nemo's", and as my interests diversified to more delicate species, I've spent a small fortune but it's well worth it. Do a lot of reserch on what you want before you start because my biggest mistake was buying the fish first and then rushing out to buy anything and everything i thought i needed to keep those suckers alive! Have fun my; tank brings me joy everyday and i hope urs does too!
