Fish Tank Inquiry

We just bought this 110 gallon acrylic tank...

dimensions 96" long by 12" deep by 21" tall.

We're interested in making this a saltwater tank. We have a filtration system built into the underside of the tank but I don't know how good it is. Does anyone know what type of filter this is and if it will work for this tank? http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/djjaykubs/IMG_4541.jpg

It also has a built in pump that seems to get good circulation through the piping but you guys probably know better than me:

Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks!

I am baffled on what that is. At first site it looks like a piece you would find off a Reverse osmosis unit . Since I dont know what it is I would buy a wet dry. filter. Those usually work best for such a large tank. But you should wait to see if someone else to reply before you make such a big investment on a new filtration unit.
