hello everyone.
i'm new to saltwater aquariums and i just got this anemone. The guy at the petstore didn't know what type it was but my ocellaris LOVE it. Maybe a little too much because i've seen them eat some of the tentacles (maybe they were cleaning off damaged tentacles) and they periodically suck on the tentacles too!
well the anemone itself is about 6in across and the tentacles are 1 to 1.5 inches long. After reading a few sites on the internet, i found that only species of host anemones with yellow tips are the Heteractis magnifica (Ritteri) anemone but some descriptions say that Heteractis malu (Sebae) anemones sometimes have a brown variation with yellowish green tips. Does anyone know the difference? any opinions, comments, or feedback is greatly appreciated.
