Very Urgent!!! Please help!

Ok, I am not new to crabs...I have had crabs since I was little but this is something I have never seen before.

I got my little sister a hermit crab as a present 2 days ago at the beach and he has been fine up until today when we were coming home.

He is usually one of my most active crabs but today, in the car, I noticed he would not come out of his shell. I figured he was just being lazy and decided to give him a small misting. He didn't come out but he moved his legs so I knew he wasn't dead. I put him back in the cage and watched him for a few minutes and he would barely peek out of his shell enough to where I could see his little eyes. I ended up picking up the little hut and putting him in there myself.

When I got home and got settled, I checked on him again by picking him up and trying to look at him. But when I did, he almost fell out of his shell. I just sat him back down and figured he was dead but before I was going to throw him away, I checked again to make sure if he was dead or not. I touched one of his legs and as soon as I did, he sort of drawed it up a little bit (I know for sure that he moved his leg in, not me).

His eyes are cloudy and he isn't moving much. I figured it was molting but he hasn't dug down in the sand and there isn't an exoskeleton or anything. He is barely moving but I am keeping him in a good place that is warm and quiet just in case he is molting. There isn't a STRONG fishy odor coming from his little cage I have him in, but there is an odor. I don't want him to die so if anyone can tell me this is molting, that would be great!

This is very URGENT and I need to know what's going on with him. Like I said, he moves every now and then when I touch him but he hasn't gone to eat/get water or really even moved that much. I need to know if he's dying or molting or what because I don't wanna accidentally throw him away thinking he's dead and him actually just be molting.

Oh and if you would like to see a picture of him, e-mail me at mgnluvs4whlrs@yahoo.com !

The picture might help people tell me whats wrong with him.

well im probably not the person to give you advice on this since i dont know much about hermit crabs but i would say that he is molting and you should probably not pick him up or bother them because it stresses them out. i read on hermit-crabs.com that an odor is normal if the crab is molting as long as it isnt a strong fishy odor.
