What type & Is it molting?

ottsfamilyzoo Jan 12, 2007 11:14 AM

We are new hermie owners of about 1 week. We recently purchased 4 hermies from the pet store. 2 I know are the purple pinchers but the other 2 do not look the same. They are quite smaller and a bluish/greenish color. Any idea what type they are?
All crabs getting along healthy in a 10 gallon aquarium w/proper humidity & temps. Then today my daughter wakes up missing one. Upon inspection we find one of the little guys almost totally buried in sand. You can tell the dig had gone on all night because there was a LOT of sand moved around. Only the top part of the shell was sticking out. Now last night we had them out playing and eating bananas and everyone was active and happy. Could this little one possibly be molting and if so is it too late to move him to the small hospital tank we set up? And exactly HOW do you move them? I don't want to hurt the little one but I don't want the others to hurt him either.
Thanks for any advice offered!

If you have a pic of it, I can tell what it is. I can only do it with pics, but I might be able to do it if you give me more detail. It'd be easier if you gave me pics.
