Crab lost big claw and two legs!

MarylandCrabs626 Jan 17, 2007 09:33 PM

Hello, I have four hermit crabs who have lived together for a year. Joshie, the smallest crab, lost two legs a few months ago, and I just noticed he lost his big claw. (He now has two legs and his little claw). He has not been stressed out, so I suspect this is due to an aggressive crab in the cage.
My boyfriend says I should isolate him until he gets better, but I am worried that he will get lonely. All crabs sleep together in the same hut. My mom says I could put a non-aggressive crab in the isolation cage. What should I do before Joshie gets fatally injured?

If you recently got it, it could be do to post-purchase stress. If not, you might not have done enough research. My website about them is at www.geocities.com/landhermitcrab2006.
