Opinions on rack systems wanted

toyvet Oct 12, 2003 11:48 AM

Planning on redoing our 4th bedroom as a reptile room....
I would need to purchase many rack systems of the best quality..
My question is.Based on your experience, what builder/manufacturer out there builds the highest quality racks ? Thank you for your help.

If you are starting from scratch and you want the best, there is nothing better than freedom breeder in my experience. I have a couple of good melamine racks and as soon as I can I am switching everything over to Freedom Breeder.

check out the racks at wantapet.com. I don't have a rack from them, but I've read some reviews and they are all positive.

My vote would go to Habitat Systems products. Their capacity to do practically ANYTHING you want is a plus, particularly if you are starting from scratch or have any unique design considerations. But their prices are definitely at the high end.

One question I have on Freedom Breeder racks - how do you maintain high humidity levels with all that open space at the top of each container?

make some nice racks and might be some for you to check out. The racks on the right side of this picture are from BARRS. The racks on the left are home made but have the same kind if polycarbonate boxes that habitat systems uses in some of their racks. Randy W.
