Hi, I just recently acquired a pair of Fisher Lovebird with their breeding box from the dealer..when i got home i looked inside the cage, there seems to be 4-5 eggs in it already. after i hang up the breeding box on to the cage and left it there. does anyone know if the pair will contiune on incubating the eggs? or they will just stop incubating? cuz when i came home today, both birds are outside the next box.
thank you.

I doubt they'll continue to set their eggs after the move. Very few birds will. Shame on the dealer for selling a pair while they were nesting! Breeding is stressful enough for birds without moving them around while they're doing it.

The eggs won't be good for long - probably not more than a few hours. You might want to give them a day or two on the outside to see if the pair has any interest in them, but don't feel too bad about tossing them and starting over.

Personally, I don't let my birds breed in about the first month I own them. I want to be sure they're healthy, disease-free, and quite settled in before they begin a clutch. If it were me, I'd remove their nestbox altogether and give them a chance to get used to the surroundings before they're pressured to produce.
