gwgates4 Apr 22, 2004 04:54 PM

Help, my son brought home two eggs he found by the river, the nest was torn and other eggs where crushed. Not known what he had or if they where even good, we have keep them warm for 2 weeks. Today when picking up his room I thought I'd check them out....... They are starting to hatch ! What do we do now ?
How long will it take and then what do we do afterwards?
The eggs are large about 31/2by2. have pic but unsure who to upload them.
Any help would be great.
Thank you,
Debra

PLEASE find a wildlife rehabber in your area. Baby birds are hard to raise. When they`re first born they need to be fed every 2 hours around the clock for the first several days or week of life. And without knowing what species of bird you have it`s impossible to know what kind of diet to feed them.

I'm pretty sure they are goose egg, I did find a web site that gave great detail on care. But just in case we find our self in over our head, Where do I start on finding a wildlife rehabber.
Thank You,
Debra

Just go to www.google.com and run a search. For example, `California wildlife rehabilitation`
Except that I doubt you`re in California. But your own region in there of course.

...accidentally posted. That should say `PUT your own region in there.`
If you call up anyone you find in your area, they might have some advice.
You can also call local animal shelters and vets to see who to go to.

Goodluck!
