Hello, I've just bought 2 Kakariki and i've had them for only about a week. They are the first birds I've ever had. They are slowly getting used to me and my partner and are happy to fly around us. I'm not expecting them to eat from our hands or talk or anything extreme, i realise its early days. But I was told by the pet shop people that they needed to be kept in a pair or they would become unhappy. At the moment it seems the other way round. The larger of the 2 is very quiet and much happier for me to come near him. The smaller one makes a lot of noise and moves as far away as it can from me. But most worrying is the small one seems to hate the big one, chasing and trying to bite. Is this unusal? Should they be seperated? Do they just not know each other very well? Is the small one nervous and unhappy? I really worried cause i want them to be happy. I dont want to have to get rid of them, because they are beautiful!
