SANITIZING A BIRD CAGE?????

MY MOM IS BUYING A USED BIRD CAGE AND I WILL BE SOON. DOES ANY ONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO SAFELY SANITIZE A BIRD CAGE AND TOYS? WE DON'T BELIEVE ITS SAFE TO USE CHEMICALS BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM PLAIN WATER IS STRONG ENOUGH. CAN SOMEONE HELP US???

You might try GSE I think it is called if you can find it. People use it to clean many things and it is supposed to be completely safe. Also using a solution of 2 or 3 parts water to one part vinegar makes a good cleaning solution which should also not be harmful to your bird.
