My daughter and I are new to the bird hobby. We were given two yellow naped Amazons. They are seven weeks old. We have been following the instruction the previous owner, who has 30+ years experience. They were hand fed up until a week and a half ago. The cage he gave us was too small, and he brought us an older, but larger cage. He told us to allow them to stay in the larger cage outside during the day, and bring them in at night. He is out of the country now, and we are flying by the seat of our pants. One of the birds died yesterday. He had been eating, playing, and looked good. The only difference is that he didn't want to be held or touched for the last two days, he had been friendly before. We thought he was jealous of the other bird. We left for shopping yesterday, and returned four hours later. He was crammed up into the corner of the cage. No apparent injury. We have moved the large cage (after cleaning it very well) into the middle of our living room. We are afraid to put the other outside in case it was insects. Can anyone help?
