Sudden Stiffness in legs

kbella246 Sep 02, 2005 12:45 AM

Does anyone know where i can find more info on leg disorders that occur in budgies? Or if leg problems can be genetic? I have a baby budgie who's about a month and a half, perfectly healthy, until today when he just all of a sudden started laying on his side and dragging his body around. His feet are very stiff and he has almost no grip but is still very alert; if anyone can help me get any info at all i'd really appreciate it; thank you

I realize you are wanting someone to offer helpful suggestions but the only thing I can suggest is to take your budgie to a vet. Yes there are sometimes genetic disorders that can affect birds but usually they don't just suddenly drop over one day and not be able to use their legs. I am not a vet but it would seem like your budgies has either gotten an injury or a sickness for this to come on suddenly as it has. Please seek a vets assistance.
