I am a boa breeder new to parrots

Do any of you have experience keeping a parrot in the same room with snakes. Of course the snake will be secure in their cages. Also I am not talking about right next to each other, more like across the room in an average size bedroom.

I could cover the larger snake cages so that the parrot can't see them, if need be, but of course the "snake smell" will be there.

he is not kept on the same floor as my sun conure, but whenever I bring him downstairs, the sun conure gets REALLY quiet and won't move very much. So I don't know how your parrot would do with boas, you might want to consider another room that you COULD put the cage in, if it becomes necessary. Birds are VERY prone to stress, it can kill them. And by the time you find out about the stress levels, it might be too late. They are very good at hiding illnesses and such things.

I have 4 various pythons and I'm getting a bird monday...however...

I work in a pet store. We do an "animal walk" each hour where an employee walks around and makes sure all of the animals look okay and safe and content and all. Usually, as i work in the small animal and bird section, I will grab a random bird and take them with me. My bird, a goffin cockatoo, will look in all the cages with me and see what's going on with no problems.... Maybe that's because he knows nothing else...or maybe because mommy is there to protect him or whatnot, but he's always been fine with everything...

Hope yours is well. Good luck!
