I've been seriously considering getting a bird for a few weeks now. I've had some experience with a cockatiel in the past but I'd really like something a little bigger. however, I have always had a fear of being bitten by the birds with bigger beaks. was in a pet store once and got bitten on a knuckle by a quaker parrot they had there when I reached too closer to his space. that wasn't as bad as I'd always thought it'd be, though.

I've been trying to determine what bird I'm best suited for and is best suited for my lifestyle. I'm 37yrs old. I'm married now ( but may not be if things continue--long story). I have 2 children, both boys ages 15 and 14. I have a small terrier mix dog and a cat. also a small 10 gal aquarium with fish. I live in a trialer inthe country on 16 acres, so noise isn't an issue now. but I may need to move to an apartment and noise then could be an issue.

I once met a small goffin too baby in a pet store and fell in love with her/him. she kept getting out of her cage and I'd got get her and she'd step up onto my hand and I'd put her back in her cage only for her to get out again. needless to say the store personel's attention to detail was lacking.

I'm rambling now so I'll just add this... What bird is right for me???? I've no clue. help!! please email me at critterlover2000@yahoo.com as I don't get to check the boards often.
