Just found snake in aviary ! Can someone please tell me something that is safe to use, to deter them?

What size or type of snake? What size are the openings on the aviary? What size or type birds? Is the aviary sitting directly on the ground or raised at all? The answers to these might be helpful in finding a way to deter snakes? Also where are you located, is it prime snake territory?

Snake was a copperhead. The building is not raised off the ground. Located in Louisiana. Double Yellow Head Amazons.
I live next to a heavily wooded area. Apparently, it made entry under the doorway.
