i found a dove on my porch,and it let me pick it up. seems like it would be someones pet. i dont really know anything about birds, so i was wondering if i should just put it outside and it will use its "homing instincts"? and go back to whoever it belongs to. or should i keep it in a cage and try to locate the owner? it does not have a band. i fed it some seed i got at the 99cent store and gave it some water.please if you have any information that would help me let me know. I do not wish to harm this animal by keeping it in a cage
