i love my bird. he is my friend. i want to do everything right, but i really cant figure this out...
i posted in here a while back. an update to that, neo was doing very well. until...
i was told i would need surgery. a total hip replacement. my surgery date was aug.2. neo went to my friends house for a week, while i was in the hospital. my friend has 3 other birds, and has spent time with neo before. i also had to move. i am staying at a friends house, and for the first time he is living in my bedroom. i do spend a lot of time in there.
he seems so wound up all the time. i know things are new, and he has to adjust. but he has been here for almost 2 weeks. if i leave him in the bedroom, he starts screaming right away. so i tried to bring him with me. he was afraid of the walker at first, but we worked on it, and now he will ride on it. he is afraid of something in the kitchen, trac lights i think, so we dont go in there. in the living room, we have a chair from the other house. he knows it, and likes sitting on it. but after a short time, he will flatten down, eyes diatated far open, holding his wings out, quivering, and doing circles, what i had in the past interpreted as im going to fly. but i think im wrong. he also squeeks when he does this, with urgency.
i read today to spoon feed him warm things. but can i comfort him right away? i wont always have a spoon with warm oatmeal ready right away?
sorry this is so long, i thought as much info as possible may be helpful.
