I've had okay luck so far keeping canaries with Bengalese (Society) finches and zebra finches, when I put them outside for the summer in big indoor/outdoor aviaries, ie. lots of space and flying room. I'd be very leery of keeping them together in anything smaller and always cage them separately when they're indoors.

I keep my finces with my canaries, and havent had any troubles -BUT, they have a large indoor flight -

In the confines of a smaller cage, I would be verry cautious of mixing birds, especially when there is any sort of pronounced size differance -
