oversleeping female...

whelming May 25, 2003 07:15 AM

hey! me again... something a little out of the ordinary happening with my girl here. My finches have mated 5 times so far in my view, and could have more when I was gone. I'm just wondering, does creating the eggs exhaust the female? Because for the first time ever, she's sleeping during the day. I don't mean just napping, she has her head tucked back and everything :/ I'm a little worried, as it is unusual. She ate this morning, but then went back to sleep. She's not sleeping in her nest either, she's sleeping on the perch. Could anyone help me out? I'm very new to this and any help is appreciated!!!

thanks ^__^

Not a good sign for her to be sleeping that much. I think an immediate vet visit is in order to find out what's happening with her. Let us know what the vet says.
