I have a few questions for the experts:
1. It's been about 3 weeks since the baby zebras hatched. THey have been venturing out of the nest and going back in. They can fly but not well. How much longer until they can be separated from the parents, or what signs do i look for that tell me the chicks are ready?
2. I already see the boy singing and dancing away. The parents are already building the nest for the next clutch. I saw a few times where the hen put nesting material right on top of the fledging chicks and sitting on them.I don't want to take the nest away yet because the fledgings still use it. I don't want them to make more babies either. SHould i worry and what should i do?
3. How do i keep a colony of zebras without them breeding and plucking each other's feathers? These are parents and siblings and i don't want them to make more. Yet i want them to be happy and not pluck feathers. I have already built a bigger cage: 4ft wide, 3ft tall, and 2ft deep. What kind of procedures should i follow?
Thanks for all the advice.
