Feeding Zebra Finches

Zebedee Feb 09, 2004 02:51 PM

I have 4 Zebra finches and I am not sure if I should provide grit for them.

I have been on a few web sites and some say yes and others say no.

Can anyone help?

Finches don't need grit because they hull their seed before they swallow it. Only birds that swallow seed hull and all need grit, such as pigeons, doves, chickens etc. Some people offer grit anyway, it can't really do any harm. But, I've never given my zebra finches grit and they don't seem to suffer for it!
