My zebra finches just layed a clutch of 4 eggs...I was hoping to keep at least one or two of the babies, but the girl at the aviary told us that the babies cannot be housed with the parents once they are fledged. My husband is very opposed to having more than one cage of birds, since we did not even buy these birds with the intent of breeding them. Even if I remove the nest from the cage to prevent inbreeding is it still a bad idea to house babies and parents together in a large cage? And if it is ok, what sex would be the best bet to house with the parents? THanks in advance!
