I just purchased a pair of shafttails about 2 weeks ago.I put them in a large cage with artificial plants and a large grass nest.They seem to be a true pair, the one with the darker red bill makes a crowing sound alot but I have never heard him sing.My book says the males sing.They sleep together inside the nest at night and seem to enjoy the greens and eggfood I am giving them.Does anyone know when I can expect the male to sing and the pair to breed?
