RE: Oh My how they change...

shesco Oct 12, 2003 01:19 PM

I have been caring for Leos less than a year now, and never thought I would be raising hatchlings, but here I am doing just that. My first hatchling was a different pattern than I am used to seeing. Here he/she is at about 1 hour old:

And here he/she is at about 2 months old:

My fourth baby so far also has a different kind of pattern. Here is a pic of him/her at about 2 hours old. I will take another pic at about 2 months old:

Thanks for looking,
Scott

I forgot to mention in my post that I still have 3 eggs incubating, and 5 total hatchlings. I will keep y'all posted as how they do. The other babies that have hatched that I did not post pics of yet, look like normals to me, which is great also!! They are all cuties.
Thanks,
Scott

Woah! I have never seen a pattern like the second picture before. Do you have pics of the parents?

Howdy, yes I do. Here is the father. I got him as a rescue last December, from a co-worker. He is a big teddy bear!!

And here is the mother. I got her also as a rescue last February, and was told she is a high yellow, however, as she has matured, she looks more normal to me, which makes no matter to me either way, she is great! She is a tad more shy than the male.

Wow, yeah, the older pic of the first leo is amazing! Keep us posted on how it keeps growing, please

Anyhow, how do you adopt leos as rescues? After I start working again I was thinking of rescuing animals that needed homes instead of buying ones that would probably get homes.
