I have read in many posts where you can separate a male and female finch for a week to encourage breeding, However it doesn’t state in any article where to place the wicker nest in this week process. Anybody have any idea where to put the nest?

You need to encourage breeding? Wow lol. Mine breed like mice (I don't let them but they would if they could). How long have you had them together again? I would try altering their environment before I separated them. They should lay when they feel safe and feel there is sufficient food. The hen also might not like her nest. Mine prefered the enclosed kind where it just had a hole in the front. Hopefully the pic attatched. Are you giving them egg food and fresh food daily? This should help encourage breeding. Also, I'm not sure what time of year it is there, but it's winter here. How much light they get will affect their breeding mode.

Now thats a proud papa! Zebra's are randy little guys and if you have to encourage breeding then perhaps you need to change their mate, enviroment etc. Plenty of fresh foods daily, egg food, meal worms etc will encourage mating behavior. If there is plenty of light, food, they like their mate, there is ample lighting and they like their nest/material they should mate for you. Are you sure they are male/female?
