Suction Cups

kyle1745 Oct 12, 2003 01:30 PM

I was talking to someone about suction cups, but can not remember who. I found some at a local store, in with the picture frames, and stuff. Small package they are 1" with hooks, but I plan to pull the hooks off. They only had one package left, but I will look for more. Either way try looking at local stores either in the crafts or frame areas.

I've been looking for a way to have a little suction cupped feeder for my Phelsuma. I've found the following semi-acceptable ones, which also may work for your uses. The heater holders and filter feeder (for bloodworms) both are big enough to hold a small cup and/or plants and such. Try the bird section and fish sections of a local pet store.
Best,
Justin

Sorry if I came did not explain, but I was posting that I found some, I was talking with someone about them, and ahd forgot who it was. I just drill a hole in the side of the canister, and then push the suction cup through. I can then use silicon or something to hold it if needed. If I remember right the ones at the pets store are a bit more, not that either is a ton of money.

Kyle,

I think I might have mentioned something about them to you. I just picked some up today from Frank's.

I use them in combination with a film canister for laying sites for my thumbnails. I burn a hole in the side of the film canister and take the metal hook off the top of the suction cup, then I place the top of the suction cup through the hole while the plastic is still hot. The plastic cools & the suction cup is secure.

Ya i used your info, but had just not seen them at a store yet. I think I was looking in the wrong place. I got them Meijers, in the frame section at the end of a aisle. No idea how much they were, but i think under a $1, I can not find my receipt now. I will have to try the burning idea, I just drilled a hole and pushed the top through after removing the hook. I have it up against the background so that holds it. So far the imitators love it. So you know I might have lucked out and got a pair from you. The one has grown a bit rounder than the other and the thin one has been calling since day one, but the larger one is not. So maybe...

That would be awesome if you got a pair!!! If you look at them from the side, you should see a difference in the profile of the male and the female. I always describe the difference like this. The male has a sway back, and the female doesn't.
