male canary lost fem, buy another fem?

Hi, the female canary of my pair died the other day ..they had been seperated for a few weeks because she was sick. Should I buy him another female partner????

I didn't think that canaries were dependent on other canaries. A lot of them HAVE to be kept separately, as they can be aggressive. Your male SHOULD be fine, but if you notice problems with him, you MIGHT want to consider getting another canary. Remember that you should quarantine any new birds in a separate room for a few months.

Thank you for your reply, I will keep an eye on him .. Im not sure I want anymore baby canaries which will probrably happen if I get another female .. but If his behavior changes, I will have no choice... thanks for reminding me to quarantine!
