Yay! Tame Zebra Finch!

The zebra finch I handfed has finally moulted (male!) and I now have the loveliest, tamest bird ever! Yay!

I think that is absolutely wonderful! Three years ago this Christmas, my husband bought me a beautiful little canary to make up for the cockatiels we had to give up. Although we did not try to hand-tame him, he tamed himself and now his favorite game is to sit on a hand inside his cage and play peek-a-boo with the thumb. When I uncover him in the morning and open the cage door, he is on my hand almost before I get it in the cage. We couldn't ask for a nicer feathered love.
