hibernation

few questions.

Is hibernation something you decide you want to do by changing temps to recreate seasons?

Is it necessary?(from what I've read I don't think it is except maybe breeding purposes) What would those purposes be?(I don't plan on breeding)

How does hibernation work? What do you do?(ie feeding, temps, handling less?)

I figure i'm doing fine so far and can continue on as i have but i really don't know much on hibernation. Any info on the subject would be appreciated. Thanks

If your not breeding then there is no reason to hibernate..
