Today I took into my custody a pearl cockatiel named(of course) Pearl. lol How can I tell the sex of this bird? The previous owner claims its a female, but Im not sure. After all, people can be wrong. Also, my other three didn't seem to be very interested in her/him/. They just seem to be ignoring him/her. You would think they would be excited to have a new pal.
Thanks in advance, B. Mitchell

An adult pearl cockatiel that still has pearling is a female. Males lose most of their pearling during their first and second molts. Though it`s reputed that some male pearl PIED cockatiels will retain their pearling.
