Advice on healthy treats please

FEESE Jun 27, 2005 03:36 AM

Could I get some advice and tips of heathy treats and what sorts of fruits and veggies to offer my cockatiel other than seed?
She seems to be eating mainly seed and I'd like her to start trying new things to stay healthy. Thanks in advance.

Hey there;
Healthy treats,...where to begin?

Of course, vegetables are extremely healthy, and can be considered treats. My two 'tiels favourite vegetables are dark leafy greens. My tiels favourites are red beet leaves, and spinach. Other healthy leafy greens include dandelion, kale, romaine lettuce, swiss chard, and bok choy leaves.

Other favourites vegetables of my tiels are broccoli, and chopped up carrots.

'Tiels usually turn they're beaks up at fruits, but however my one tiel enjoys watermelon, and my other enjoys pomengranets.

Healthy treats of your birds will enjoy are whole wheat cooked pasta, or spaghetti, brown and wild rice(my fids like brown rice), the core of bell peppers, and birdiebread! Also, healthy seed snack alternatives are cantelope, pumpkin, and watermelon seeds!
