Hi Guys;
I have a pair of grey cockatiels that are working the nest box again. I was unsuccessful in getting the eggs to hatch before. The eggs they laid were fertile but did not hatch even after 7 weeks. When i cracked them i saw they had the yolk and stuff, but looked like that embryo just did not develop. I could see the red veins and the air cell when i would candle them. I am in UT and the weather here is very dry, i guess the lack of humidity was a huge factor.
I want to get it right this time and want to make sure that i provide the desired humidity. Here is what i plan to do:
1)i bought a good humidifier.
2)place a dish of water inside the nest box.
3) add salt in the nest box, hopefully it will absorb moisture from the air.
4) mist the eggs from time to time.
I wanted to know for those who have successfully hatched their eggs as to what their humidity level(% wise) was and the temperature of the house, Its winter time here so i want to make sure the temperature is fine for them. Also any tips or comments will be appreciated.

Thanks;
ravi
