Hi, I am new to forum,I found this site last night while searching/surfing every bird site or info I could find to find out what kind/breed of cockatiel this new female someone gave me is. Here is a perfect description maybe one one you know: she is beautiful mostly snow white except for little pearl looking light grey spots on wings and I mean just wings with almost silver tinted spots pearl effect not alot, looks like a clouds silver lining, even her face is all snow white no orange cheeks, I thought albino but she does not have red eyes and of course the touches of grey, her beak and feet look pinkish or light like baby tiels but she is grown and laying eggs has a mate that looks like a normal grey. The lady that gave me the pair said she had tried to breed them when they reached the proper age and the egg clutch did not hatch it was first clutch and she didnt have time to try again she wanted a white baby,I love all my babies "birds" and it dont matter the color I just never seen one like her if anyone knows please let me know we named them snowwhite & prince charming and they are breeding again.LOL just got them yesterday.

Could it be a silver whiteface?? I am not real familiar with color mutations of cockatiels but you might try this site to see if you can figure it out by looking at the pictures and trying different combinations.

Hope that helps!

Hi again, thanks for the site info and I do think it looks more siler then grey on the small places that are not white, I will check it out on site, Oh does anyone know if it is ok to let her and him breed I have heard so much about bald heads she is not bald but would the babies be bald?

Lutinos are the only mutation I am aware of that tend to go "bald" though it's usually just a small patch of baldness behind the crest, though I've never heard of a healthy bird that went completely bald.

sounds like maybe a cinnamon pied wihte face or a cinnamon pearl pied whiteface, might be silver but without a pic it's hard to tell.
what mutation is her mate?
