Hi my name is Dave and I just bought my first Mali and need some advice on lighting. I'm going to house him in a 55 gal. Terrarium and need to know the best combination on lighting. Any help would be appreciated.

ok you need a basking bulb and a UVB tube light fixture. for a 55 gallon i would think a 150 watt would get the temps correct, with a slate rock under the bulb, and any type of 'desert' UVB bulb would be good. i use the 8.0 uvb bulb.

More important than lighting, is making sure you have a good calcium supplement that contains vit. d3. The Uro will thrive without UV lighting, but will suffer without the supplement.

hey,
i had a 55 gallon and i found a 100 basking bulb to do the trick. it got the basking temps to approx. 120-125.
