New member, not new to the 'tiels

Hello all! I just joined. Google'd for new 'tiel forums to talk about my babies on.

I have three currently, Stu is a normal grey (split to pied) who is an adult bird, he's terrified of people, but very outgoing.

Tully is a wf normal grey from a breeder, I got him at 9 weeks old. He's going through his 6mth molt right now! He's going to be very handsome.

And my new baby, a lutino, just nine weeks old yesterday. Yet nameless, it's a tie between Ren or Banana! Heh. He's super outgoing, not afraid of anything!

I also used to have other birds, my heart bird was Quinn, a 6 year old pied. I came home one night in January.. Quinn, his girl Gracie, their 5 babies, and my two budgies were all dead. The pathologist couldn't tell me what happened, only that they were the healthiest birids he'd seen in a while.

Good luck with your new babies. It sounds like you really enjoy your feathered friends.

As far as the ones that passed away it could be a few things. Did they do a complete necropsy or just an "outer view"? Depending on the tests they ran it could be possible they did not find something such as a poisoning. This could be anything from eating food that got accidentally contaminated, having someone spray pesticide outside that accidentally blew in an open window, etc. If it had only been one to two that died I would have guessed it could be stress related. Sometimes with a great scare of some kind one or two will get an accelarated heart that can result in a type of heart attack or stroke. This isn't always picked up on either if it was a quick death instead of a long suffering death.

Either way good luck and keep us updated on your feathered friends.
