male biting his own leg

Hi everybirdy
Ive never posted on this site so HI!This is a crooss post for someone desperatly looking for an answer.She took him to the vet and he said nothing was wrong....no bloodwork was drawn.Is this a breeding behavior?I have 4 proven pairs and have never seen this?Any thoughts?Thanks

By biting on his leg do you mean he is picking feathers out, chewing on the feathers, chewing on the leg itself and if on the leg itself is he drawing blood or making sores on it? If he is not picking or chewing feathers and is not making sores etc on the leg it is probably just a habit that particular bird has. But I do have a few other questions.

Was it an actual avian vet the bird was taken to?

Was blood samples or skin scrapings done to check the affected area or did the vet just glance at the leg and say nothing is wrong?
