THE troublemaker

I have posted many times now about my BRB's, every now and then they have regreted to eat the first time, and i have had the tip of leaving them in the cage with the mouse even if they don't eat as soon as they constrict it, last time my male didn't want to eat, but i teased it to eat, by gently dragging the mouse along his back, and also by touching his tail and mid body, and he finally ate, my female has also done this a few times, but this time she refused to feed at all, People have doubted my husbandary but i keep telling it is the correct one, no mites, clean cages, fresh water every day, 80-90% RH and 87-88F on the ot side, and 75-77F on the cold side.. with a NTL of 70-72 on the cold side, and 74-76 on the hot side.

I need all opinions i can get, i have checked my husbandary lots of times now, and handling is at a minimum, but i need to separate the snakes for feeding, and that might be what causes this, or may it be that its lit in the room?

I need serious opinions here, my husbandary is correct, seems like they don't like the new bought batch of mice i got though, even though the old ones we're actually larger and smelled almost the same ( to me ). Neither one of them have refused feeding untill today when the female refused, the male is going strong though as he stole the females mouse when i was concentrating on trying to tease feed her.

Am i missing something here, do anyone have any useful tips? or maybe stuff they've ran into thats not so obvious?.

Thanks for your time reading
Sincerly Stefan.

EDIT: They have refused to eat for the FIRST TIME , the female that is, that message is a bit messy. but the female is the only one that has truley refused the meal.

It sounded to me like you have them housed together. The first thing I would recommend is to house them separately. Secondly you did not mention anything about hide spots. You should have them at each end of the enclosure, one at hot side and one at cool side. The hides should be just large and tall enough for the snake to fit in snuggly. One thing I have found with my neonate BRB's is that a lot of them prefer rat pinks as a first meal over mice. I have stopped using mice at all for my clutches of BRB's and they have all done very well on rat pinks. Hope this helps.

Well hide spots on both sides are so basic that i didn't even write it, ofcourse they got hidespots, and yes they are housed together, but many swedish people who owns BRB's male and female house them together untill they are 2 years old, then separate them for a year, and then breed them ofcourse the females has to go another year, so around 4 - 5 yrs when they breed, well i should try rat pups, but rat pups in sweden is hard to find, i read another thread, about cutting a f/t's mouse throat to get it to bleed, and then rub it on the mouse and feed it to the snake, ill try that, if that doesn't work i will also try first pre killed, and then live.

Any more suggestions? all answers are welcome
