Our cockatiel is sick with an unknown illness, my mother refuses to take him to the vet because "he's an old bird"
So i am hoping some of you may know what is wrong with him.
Symptoms
Head burried all day
wings slightly out
(crop?) under chin slightly larger than normal
general aura of not being ok.
his eyes do not seem to be swolen however.

today he seems to be a little better compared to last night but i am still worried, we have given him a heat lamp and raised the temperature during the night. Is there anything more i can do? i may give him a little cammomile tea for him to drink (read it in a book) please help

Sorry that your Mom won't let you take him to the vet. How old is he? You might try googling bird illnesses and getting some info on the internet.

He died sometime in the night or this morning, i did buy some broad antibiotic for him however i think it was too late if it was going to do anything at all. thanks for your reply and your willingness to help.
to my knowledge he was a fairly old bird, i'm not shure how old exactly but getting up there, we adopted him from a friend who's dog kept trying to eat him so as i said not shure on age.

I'm so sorry he died. My bird is age 11 and that is only middle aged. I guess they can live into their 20's.
