Need Help with Hurt Cockatiel

saraslove Feb 06, 2007 08:47 AM

I have a cockatiel that flew into the bathroom mirror Sunday. I took him to the vet and brought him home yesterday. He did not break anything, but he can’t perch. He is on the bottom of his cage trying to walk, and he looks as though he is off balance. He is eating and drinking, and is in no pain. I am looking for a cage that has a large bottom, giving him enough room to move around. I have looked at cages with a large bottom, but I don’t want to purchase a cage big enough for a Macaw.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Elizabeth

I'd take him back to the vet or another vet. Cleary something is wrong if he can't perch & you need to find out what, it may be fixable.

I don't recomend a cage that big as most cages that big also have barring spaced too far apart so your cockatiel will get his head or body stuck in the bars, another disasterous accident you don't need.

He's needs to go to a certified avian vet.
