My middle aged tiel 11)is looking kinda scraggly lately. She has a bent tail feather--it is not broken, it just grew out bent. How often are those tail feather molted? It's been quite awhile. Also she has a couple bent feathers on her crest. She looks downright goofy! she needs gel--lol. But she is in good health and chipper as always.

Bent feathers in young tiels can be normal but in old tiels it can be a sign of illness or disease. Take her to the vet & get a thorough checkup.
