Lost Cockatiel

Bird escaped our home on 3/26 in the Indian Trail, matthews NC area. MY daughter handraised this bird from 5 days old. She is devastated. If you see peanut ANYWHERE please call or email us. Photos is here

I'm so sorry about your lost bird. That is devastating and not the first time I have heard of this situation. Leaving a door open, or the bird flying through the door when someone enters, or getting out of an cage brought outdoors. That's why I keep my Ramona's wings clipped a little. She can fly, but not very far. I wonder if there's some type of ID bracelet available for birds (like the tag on dog collars). I have also heard of people finding tame tiels and taking them in, 2 times to people I know directly. So sometimes they do get rescued because they are not afraid of people and may fly close or land on them. Good luck and let us know if you get your tiel back!
