If I find a neat tree branch and construct a way to attach it to the cage, what do I have to do to this branch to make it safe for my tiel?
Well....dowse it in vinegar & set it out in the hot sun for a day should do it.
That's all I do for plain branches with nothing else.
I often use gum or bottlebrush branches with flowers & leaves from my back yard. Dowsing these in vinegar can cause them to wilt & die & the birds stay away from them. Since they love the flower nectar, nuts & leaves I just wipe over with a cloth of vinegar & check all branches, leaves & flowers & discard any that're not helathy looking. Then offer to the birds.
