Has anyone ever traveled with their lovebird on a plane? I see people with small dogs all the time...but I don't know about regulations for birds, or if it's safe for birds?
(Sounds funny being worried about birds "flying" in an airplane)

I do know people ship birds and take them with them on airplanes so I am guessing it is safe. It will depend on what airline you choose. I would never let a bird travel as "cargo" and would only take it with me if it is allowed in the cabin. I believe that most airlines will require a health certificate from a vet and may have a specific type of carrier that is allowed. If you call whatever airline you are planning on using they should be able to tell you their requirements and regulations since they do differ.

Thanks, Phiggy, I'll have to do a little more checking. Southwest's website says absolutely no pets. I'll just have to keep looking, or drive!
Of course, I would NEVER ship my bird as cargo!!!! He'd be on my lap or within my eyesight the whole time! I could never let that little guy get scared, so he'd have to sit right by me.
