My budgie keeps moving her left wing

miburo Apr 18, 2007 08:51 PM

Ive had her about 2 weeks. Shes been fine up to now, but when i came back from work I noticed that she kept lifting and stretching her left wing non-stop, even when she walks. She is cages with a male parakeet but they get along extremely well so i dont think he did anything to her. Also the area under her left wing looks bald and there are quite a few feathers(the little gray ones)laying under where she sits. I dont know if she pecked at herself and hurt herself or if she somehow did something worse and i would really appreciate help.

~regards~

I really wouldn't be able to say what is wrong with her wing. It is possible that she is molting and is uncomfortable with the bare patches and new feather growth. If the behavior continues or she shows other signs of sickness then a trip to the vet for a checkup might be in order.
