hey everyone. as you probabley all know by now from the posts below, i just aquired a beautiful 5 yr old male solomon island eclectus. he is an amazing bird and i love him. i bring him to my parents house when i go there and my dad absolutley loves him. he'll sit and talk with him and hold him and whistle for and hour. its great. so you know fathers day is coming up and i was talking with my family and we were considering all pitching in and getting him an eclectus. i have heard that females can be dominant and ornery sometimes but i was wondering if anyone knows where i might be able to find a young female for a good price. i posted on the classifieds both in the for sale classifieds and the wanted classifieds. my classified account ends in 6 days. any help would be great...thanks

We don't have fathers day til september here & I don't know where you are. You could just keep looking in your area.
Just a thought too. Perhaps if you take your dad to find the right ekkie for him. It's better for the bird to choose the owner, things run a lot smoother in the family this way & even if your dad isn't chosen by an ekkie, he can at least see if there are any hostile ones toward him that can avoid getting.
Father's day around here is in June. I definitely agree with the advice on letting your dad in on the choosing, some birds just seem to choose their owners and may act aggressive towards other people. Other birds may just seem to like or dislike everyone. I am not sure which area you are from but have you tried a google search for either breeders, bird clubs or rescues in your area where you might find a suitable bird?
