It's too cold for my parakeets!

lahmeh May 29, 2007 07:20 PM

Hi all. I sure hope someone can give advice. I have 2 parakeets but live in a finished basement and it's usually 65 degrees in here. What if any kind of heat source can I buy for my babies? I don't want to make them too hot and don't want to use light that will bother them at night. Help! Thanks in advance for any advice! Lattishia

My advise would be to go to a pet shop and buy a reptile lamp to set over the cage. At night you can put a blanket over the cage. Or if you do not feel OK leaving a heat lamp over the cage you can always wrap a heating pad around the cage to keep them warm.

Go to Walmart and get some sort of room heater to heat the whole room up
